Lenny Henry campaign: back TV diversity or we'll boycott licence fee

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/apr/23/lenny-henry-campaign-tv-diversity-licence-fee

This story  is about how the media institutions have a majority of white race working for then. Therefore this had then to a figure of television inside of Lenny Henry in which he is now attempting to get the attention of these intuitions in order to create an awareness of this matter which he would hoping it would lead to action being taken place on the matter. The way in which he has had taken this role on has been through attempting to create a petition. The reason in which why he had been blown into the attention was due to Lenny Henry's beliefs that the media institutions was dominated by the whites therefore him trying to open the path for more Blacks and Asians to be apart of television. Some could see this campaign to be serious and be taking to extreme levels in order for the law to be changed allowing more Asians and Black to be apart of TV. This reason for this would be that they have already stated that if the petitions is not seen to be taken into consideration the first step they will take will be to boycott the TV licence. How Lenny Henry had brought this issue to the public first was by creating an email address in which he sent out in order to receive feedback. due to the increase of new and digital media in order for Lenny Henry to be enable himself to get though to his target audience the easiest way for this would be through the internet due to the impact it can have of how fast the news will be able to travel. My view of this story would be that i believe that it would be a good idea allowing more Asians and Blacks into television the reason for this it would then decrease the amount of stereotyping in which takes place through the media. I also believe in order for Lenny Henry's petition to gain attention through the media using new and digital media would allow this as, it would travel fast therefore making it a trend.
