Sunday Times, Telegraph and Observer report increase in sales for October
The
Observer had the highest monthly increase of readers for September and October,
becoming the leading Sunday newspaper for the past two months. However all
newspapers are decreasing in sales year by year.
The
Observer increased 2.3% over September and October. Furthermore the Observer
gained an average weekly circulation of 229,183 in October. Compared to the
sales in the previous October the Observer are down by 3.7%.
The Sunday
Times and Sunday Telegraph also increased their sales in
September.
- The Sunday Times gained an increase of
1.6% resulting in sales of 836,822. Furthermore the Sunday times figure
from October 2012 to now has decreased 7.4.
- The Sunday
Telegraph gained
an increase of 0.6% resulting in sales of 443,082.The Sunday times figure
compared to this time last year has decreased by 0.5%.
- The biggest
newspaper in decline from October 2012 to October 2013 was the Daily Star
Sunday who had seen their sales fall 15.4% to 329,014. The daily star Sunday
also saw a fall of 6.1%from September to October, therefore being the
Sunday newspaper taking the most damage.
Furthermore the other
leading Sunday title, The Independent on Sunday was in a decline of 1.1% from September
to October. Also their sales figure had dropped from 9.3% from October 2012 to
October 2013 leaving them losing around 108,719 sales in total.
The Sunday red tops all saw their sales drop, however The Sun on Sunday suffered the least. With their sales down by 1.9% to 1,841,589 from September to October. Therefore their decline from October 2012 to October 2013 was 9.6%. The Sun on Sunday main rivals Sunday Mirror sales were down by 3.1% from September to October. Furthermore the Sunday Mirror saw a decline of 5.5% from October 2012 to October 2013 therefore leaving them with sales of 1,005,783 for that year.
