David Walliams to star as BBC bags Agatha Christie drama deal
David
Walliams will star in adaption on the BBC. The author who will be taking charge
of this will be Agatha Christie the reason for this is due to the 125th
anniversary birth. This scheme was also brought to be put into place as, it
will allow the BBC to bring in some of the most well-known authors to have
taking their work on the small screen. The BBC have already broadcasted some of
the biggest names. These names are many of Christies work. However the author
has heavy been involved with working with ITV over the past years. I believe that
this deal was made by the BBC in order to allow them to bring in a larger
audience in order to benefit themselves. However I do believe by the BBC brining
authors in who are famous amongst the small screen will allow them to bring in
the audience whether it is a success or not as, the audience will still want to
find out how it turns out to be. Furthermore it seems to be looking to become a
success the reason for this is statistics such as Christie most successful work
selling more 100 million copies. This then shows that her fan base is large
which will then tune in to watch her work with the BBC.
